Poster Presentation Summary

On 6th December 2012, my partner, Gulbahar Yazmyradova and I  had done our poster presentation at LR 6. Our poster presentation was based on the short story Lady or The Tiger. The presentation carries up to 10% of the total coursework marks. In our poster, we have chosen a scene from the short story which is when the young man threw a glance towards the princess hoping that the princess will give a sign on which door he should open. From the scene, we have to do the literature analysis and present it according to the poster.
The first component of the analysis was the summary of the short story. This part was presented by Gulbahar. After that, it was time for me to elaborate about the scene that we have selected. The purpose for us choosing the scene is because it is one of the most significant moment of the story. Then i went through the themes of the story. The themes that i am talking about is choices and consequences. This can be seen in the young man's character whereby he has to pick one of the two doors and what are the consequences he will face of choosing that door.
Next, it's Gulbahar's turn to present on the characters that are involved and settings in this story. The characters involved are the king, the princess and the young man. The story was taken place in Medieval times. All of the characters are related to the symbols of the story. For example, the king symbolizes power whereby he rules the kingdom and no one dares to disobey him. Last but not least are the moral values. From the story, we came up with three moral values.
Our poster was done using mounting boards with two doors in front of it to symbolize the doors portrayed in the story. One of the door has a lady picture on it and the other one has a tiger picture. To show the characters in the story, we printed out some cartoons and paste it onto the poster. Our poster presentation consumed about 10 minutes time. In the end, i am very grateful that the presentation turns out well and it gives me new experience. I am very thankful to God for giving me the strength to pull through this although i am quite nervous when it comes to presentation. Nevertheless, by doing this presentation i can help to develop my confidence level, soft skills and communication skills.
