CLEANLINESS IN CAMPUS RESTAURANT BEING IGNORED

     Nazrin one of University Technology Petronas foundation student was found dead after eating at campus restaurant due to food poisoning. The statistic illustrated that from year 2009 to 2010 about 2837 cases involving food poisoning occurred in every universities in Malaysia. There are few causes of cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored which is lack of employees, abundant of food waste and lack of awareness in cleanliness.

     Firstly, lack of employees is one of the causes of cleanliness in campus restaurant are being ignored. The main problem that are typically happened when hiring employees is regarding financial thus this might be the reasons for lack of employee problem. Besides that, there is nobody interested in filling the job vacancy as cleaner also making the problem became worse and worsen. Most of the veteran cleaners quit due to low in salary that is why the financial is essential to overcome this problem. Therefore, lacks of employees are indeed one of the causes of cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored.

      Secondly, abundant of food waste is also one of the causes of the cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored. The reason is abundant of food waste can leads to problems involving pest like rat, flies and other disease-carrying animal. Furthermore, abundant of food waste happened because the food waste are difficult to be dispose off. Moreover, the food does not satisfy customer’s appetite so much of the food waste are only ended as pile of garbage. The employees are too lazy to clean the food waste which this behavioral is typically happens at most of campus restaurant. To sum up, cause of the cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored because of abundant of food.

       Lastly, another cause of cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored is because lack of awareness. To makes people to completely aware on certain things even the smallest thing is to remind them often. Most of campus restaurant today are not regularly visited by the Health Officer. In addition, lacks of that is stress on cleanliness campaign are being held. This problem will becomes worse and worsen if the people do not takes any initiative or take it seriously to overcome it. In the nutshell, lacks of awareness are also one of the causes of cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored.

       Conclusion, the causes that the cleanliness in campus restaurant being ignored is lack of employees, abundant of food waste and lack of awareness in cleanliness.
