Opinion Essay

Have you fought anyone before? It is believe that some students fight because of being racist to each other. Students should avoid racism as it will create racial sentiment. Racism is the belief that all the members of each race posses characteristics, abilities or qualities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as interior or superior to another race or races. The following paragraphs will elaborate on why racist problem can occur, effects of racism towards university students and  how to overcome this problem this problem.
There are many causes why racism occur in students. Frustration is a very common cause of racism. If one is having some sort of a social problem, they tend to get very angry with people who are not even concerned with their situation. For instance, when a person is having a tough time economically, they find it easy to blame immigrants for taking away their jobs or creating fewer opportunities. This type of an analysis is very easy to make but when one makes this assumption, it usually leads to hate towards any minority group.
Some of the effects of racism problem among student are can cause a chaos or fight in campus which will eventually lead to severe injuries. As we all know, universities these days contain a lot of international students, so racism problem might occur at certain universities. In serious cases, students might end up locked behind bars or maybe sentenced to death if they are involved in murder cases. This is something we do not want to see as it will dishonor one's institute.
In order to ensure that this problem does not exist anymore in campus, the solutions are students must respect the differences in all populations. While student should be proud of the student's membership in a culture, that does not mean a student can disrespect or feel superior to another group. Nevertheless, speak up when hearing racist slurs or jokes. People often ignore jokes because they do not know what they are suppose to say. However, remaining silent implies that one is agree with such racist beliefs. Take the opportunity to initiate discussion.
In conclusion, racism is not an ability that people are born with but it is based on how an individual is raised and what they learn when they are younger. There are many solutions in the world to prevent racism. However, this does not mean that such attempts would put and end to racism because racism will always exist as long as we live. But what the government and institutions and rest of the public can do is help minimize racism. It is a shame that many people feel such hate towards a group but maybe if they try to deal with the change and personal frustrations maturely. People are people and if one can be broader minded, and does not base other individuals on their skin color and accept them for who they are, it would be a significant step towards minimizing racism.
