UTP STUDENTS POOR TIME MANAGEMENT.
The very pillar of foundation of time
management must be built the moment students entered the age of university life.
Ironically, according to a recent study by UTP Board of Administration in 2012,
almost 3 000 students failed to manage their time well or did not know how to
arrange their schedule. The three reasons why UTP students have poor time
management is that they get distracted by entertainment, delaying tasks and
lack punctuality.
To begin with, there are a lot of
entertainment regardless of their form were students usually get distracted by
it. The very obvious one among the students is multiplayer game such as video football
game or Local Area Connection (LAN) games
where one connect to others via LAN to play a multiplayer game. Plus, the
current trend of spending time on social website such as Facebook, may consumes
precious students time to study.
Let us move further into the issue by
considering the next point. Students usually have the habit of delaying tasks
which are well known to be the key factor in students poor time management. For
example, student usually started doing the assignments given one day before the
deadline or stacking homework and assignments until it get abundant. Such acts
kill the students advantage on having the flexibility of time. In addition,
last minute study, a famous practice among students, leave them partially unprepared
for their important exams.
Last but not the least, students who have
poor punctuality are known to suffer from poor time management. From the
mentioned point, students always ended up accomplishing their task beyond the
deadline. Worse than that, students never realize the important of punctuality or never take note the vital
dateline.
To summarize all of the point above, it is
evident that student who get distracted by entertainment, love to delay task
and lack the sense of punctuality have a poor, pathetic time management. Hence,
it is vital for us to find the remedy to overcome this problem that seems to be
worsened day by day. Let us improve ourselves for the betterment of our own self.
