THE ACT OF HESITANCY

     Should the youngman follow the princess’s signal or his instinct? It can be argued that he will follow the princess’s signal. The reasons why he followed the princess’s signal because he trusted the princess, he cannot find another way out and he accepted all the possibilities that could happen.

     Firstly, the reasons why the youngman followed the princess’s signal is because he trusted the princess. Based on the short story, the youngman and the princess are always together and seems to know each other for quiet long time thus, trust must already entangled between them. The princess is royalty so she can get the information regarding what lies behind both doors easily. The youngman knows that the princess will help him to choose the right door because their trust knows no bound. Therefore, the reasons why the youngman followed the princess’s signal is because he trusted the princess.

    Secondly, he cannot find another way out is another reason why he followed the princess’s signal. The youngman had no other choice but to choose one of the doors as for him there is no ways of escape in what he is facing during that moment. At the arena the youngman is panic due to the situation he faced where all eyes of the commoners are watching at him at they waiting for him to make his decision. As a result, the youngman had to follow the princess signal to see his resolution for that situation. To sum up, he cannot find another way out is one of the reasons he followed the princess’s signal.

    Finally, the reasons the youngman followed the princess’s signal because he accepted all the possibilities. The youngman has no other ways to save himself but to choose one of the doors to end his trial. Undoubtedly the youngman also can follow his own instinct because he knows that the princess cannot bear to see him with another woman if he chooses the door which lies a beautiful maiden. However, the youngman do not know which of the doors resides the tiger or the young maiden thus, that is the reasons he followed the princess’s signal.

    Conclusion, the youngman followed the princess’s signal due to he trusted the princess, he cannot find another way out and he accepted all the possibilities that could happen.
